The statement of the former MLA MK Somaskekar said on Monday that three students are among the poor families and their parents had to support their education. The dreams of families for their future were broken when these three students unfortunately drowned in the pool during a visit to the mangalur.
The statement states that Mr Somaskekar, who arranged for transport of bodies to Mysuro and expanded the support of the funeral, later explained the desperate financial situation of families to the victims to the main minister.
Mr. Siddaramaiah responded positively and approved financial assistance of 2 lakh for the family – a total of 6 ₹ Lakh, said Mr. Somaskekar and added that the letters of sanctioning compensation were divided into the families of the victims in his home office Janani.
He thanked the main minister Mr. Somaskekar, said the amount of compensation was credited to the bank accounts of three families.
The former MLA said that the girls’ parents also filed a case against the resort for his alleged negligence and hope to ensure justice.
Mr. Somaskekar also expressed concern about growing cases of drowning children from rural areas when swimming in agricultural ponds, canals, lakes or falling into the construction site. He urged his parents to be vigilant about the safety of their children and take all the necessary steps to prevent such tragic incidents.
