In what is expected to be a shock to engineering universities that increase fees but threaten quality and facilities, the government decided to appoint a committee for evaluation of the quality of education and existing fees structures.
The Committee would study a report on the vigilation and enforcement presented during the BRS government, as well as the judgments that the Supreme Court accepted in the case of the determination of the fees structure.
However, the process of advice for admission at engineering universities would be completed at a specified time.
World -class standards
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy wants engineering universities in Telangana to have world -class standards with regard to growing demand for courses such as artificial intelligence (AI), which would have a strong impact on the technological sector.
The government plans to create a new system for universities to improve their quality to suit the changing market needs. In line with this idea, universities are expected to have better facilities, pedagogical staff and laboratories.
The fees structure will be completed by examining all aspects, including pedagogical staff, teaching standards, laboratory facilities, buildings and other infrastructure.
CM asked officials to follow the Supreme Court judgments in the “Islamic Academy of Education vs. Karnataka and PA Inamdar and other vs. Maharashtra” and corresponded appropriately to the structure of fees.
Cases concerned the determination of a fee based on facilities, laboratories, salaries paid to lecturers, teaching and unclean employees and future university plans to improve their standards.
Mr. Revant Reddy reminded them that the previous BRS government had carried out an inspection of the Ministry of Ages and Enforcement, but no measures were taken on the basis of the report. Instead, the BRS government gave freedom to some universities to increase fees that show a distorted approach to some other universities.
