Municipal Commissioner Vijayawada HM Dyanacandra.
Vijayawada Commissioner Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) HM Dyanacandra has proposed odor control units to prevent unpleasant odors from wastewater treatment plants.
As part of his field visit on July 10th on Thursday, the Commissioner inspected the wastewater treatment plant (STP) in Ramalingesware Nagar and ordered officials to present a report on the current odor levels and compared it with levels after installing the odor control units. He said he would verify the effectiveness of the units after installation.
The Commissioner ordered officials to install the same units for checking the odor in the wastewater treatment plant across Vijayawada and also asked them to ensure proper maintenance and safety measures. He also suggested the integration of the SCADA system (control and data collection) with alarms and sensors to detect any failures or failures in units.
Awareness
The Commissioner felt that students should be transported to units of wastewater treatment to raise awareness of the functioning of these units. Each unit must have a detailed advice that explains its engineering functions so that students can learn the technical aspects involved, he said.
Officials were presented by the head engineer R. Srinath Reddy, the main physician and medical director of Satyanarayana and P. Satyakumari, a project clerk (UCD) P. Venkatanarayan and other employees.
