The Olympic Medal, which won the Indian Javelin, Neera Chopra expressed pride on its consistency after winning its first Diamond League title in two years and came around Julian Weber’s German rival in a high quality field.
27 -year -old secured victory On Friday evening with an impressive first round of 88.16 m, in a stellar line -up, which included five Elite 90m club members.
Chopra watched her first efforts with 85.10 m before registering three consecutive mistakes. During his last attempt, he closed a modest 82.89 m. Weber, who defeated Chopra this season in two previous trips, finished second with his best of 87.88 m, he also came in the first round. The Brazilian Luiz Mauritio da Silva rubbed in third place with 86.62 m.
Neera Chopra said he was pleased with how his competition began, attributed a clean start and a smooth rhythm for his strong opener. During the event, however, he acknowledged several technical shortcomings – he noted that his body was driving too far left and forcing his chest by throwing, which disrupted its flow. Nevertheless, he was satisfied with a violation of 88 meters and after a long waiting he returned to the top of the stage.
“Today I was really happy with the beginning, because I had a really good starting technique and everything was perfect. But I felt that my body was going too much today. I tried to go with chest with my chest, so my technique wasn’t so good.
Chopra last won the title Diamond League in Lausanne in June 2023 with 87.66 m throwing. Since then, the finalist has completed six DL meetings.
The victory was the first Chopra from Lausanne 2023 when he won with 87.66 m. Meanwhile, he finished the runners at six Diamond League meetings and often did not fall just shortly from the best place. This triumph also described his first victory in Paris, where he made his debut in 2017.
He returned to Paris and secured victory after almost eight years, he said, was of particular importance – especially because his journey of the International Diamond League began at this place. Chopra stressed that consistency remains the cornerstone of his performance, especially under the pressure of Marquee events, such as the World Championship and the Olympics. He noted that he competes in the field of elite throws to increase his pear-and still focuses on a more regular exceeding 90 meters of barrier.
“Also, when I started my career Wanda Diamond League, I started here in Paris, so it is the second time after my debut in 2017. After seven or eight years I am satisfied with the victory. For me the cohesion is the biggest key. You are very happy here.
Chopra exceeded the 90m barrier earlier in the season on the Diamond League on May 16 and recorded 90.23 m to finish second. Weber claimed the title with the final effort of 91.06 m.
Chopra also spoke of the positive influence of the legendary spear by Jan Elezn, under whose leadership he trained. He described Elezna as a source of infectious energy and said that Czech Great helped to improve his technique- especially by advising him to use faster and shorter steps during the crossover phase, rather than longer. In cooperation with the triple Olympic champion Chopra gave him more confidence and peace.
“Having Jan Zelezna around me makes me feel great about myself. When I throw,” he said.
31 -year -old Weber also got a better of Chopra at the Janusz Kusocinski memorial in Poland 23 May, where both athletes fought in cold conditions. Weber managed 86.12 m, while Chopra had to settle for a second with 84.14 m.
The double Olympic medalist launched his season 2025 with the title for Invitational Meet in Potchefstroom in South Africa – a smaller event of category F – where he recorded a hom of 84.52 m.
