Agrinics, interactive sessions with farmers and disks of the kitchen garden is one of the highlights of the weekly program awareness of the countryside, which on Wednesday launched the latest annual college students of College of Agriculture, Vellayani.
The program called “Gramodaya 2025” is designed to explore local agricultural procedures, understand the challenges facing farmers, and propose practical solutions based on traditional knowledge and modern agricultural sciences, the students said.
Organized by the University Ministry of Agriculture in cooperation with Kattakada Gram Panchayat and Krishi Bhavan, ‘Gramodaya 2025’ started with awareness of Amachal after Plavoor. The event, which will be until May 7, will formally be inaugurated by IB Satheesh Mla on Friday, May 2.
The program will include agricultural seminars, agricultures, training and interactive sessions with farmers and local representatives, discs for the development of kitchen gardens, agricultural exhibitions and cooking competitions.
On Saturday (May 3), Agri-Clinics will be held in eight departments, followed by training on mushroom growing and soil testing on the Ward Kolode.
The integration of indigenous knowledge with modern agricultural technologies is trying to develop a sustainable and comprehensive plan for agriculture, students said in a statement. “This participating model, which concerns farmers, elected representatives and officials, aims to serve as a plan for the future agricultural initiative in the region and prepare a way for a more resistant and self -existing agricultural community,” he said.
5th May will be held seminars on breeding poultry and knowledge of indigenous agriculture and kitchen garden construction workshop.
The Minister of Agriculture P. Prasad will start Valictory sessions on May 7. The last day of the program will also include Expo Agriculture and Market Fair, presenting agricultural products, traditional performances of farmers and local artists, culinary competitions of Kudumbashree members and programs of awareness of the abuse of addictive substances.
