
The collector of the district district of Thrissur issued an order to calm Leopard seen at various places in Chalakuds in the last few days as soon as he is.
A new cage will be set up, except for the existing four and will be deployed forest staff. A team of three veterinarians was organized for the operation.
After the leopard observation in the residential area in Chalakuda, an emergency meeting led by Mla Sanish Kumar Joseph and district collector Arjun Pandian took place. The meeting decided to immediately capture the leopard without causing inconvenience to the public.
The divisional forest officer (DFO) promised that the search for leopard was reinforced. If necessary, instructions were provided to deploy other staff. 69 cameras were installed in various places to monitor Leopard movements and another one would be installed if necessary.
“Avoid approaching cages”
People were recommended to avoid upcoming cages and shores of the Chalakuda River, where Leopard was last seen. Local self -government officials were instructed to take the necessary steps to clean the undergrowth. Owners will be directed to clean the undergrowth on private real estate.
In addition, the police were instructed to take strict measures against those who spread false information about leopards.
