Collector lays emphasis on infrastructure for industrial growth in Vizag
District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore directed the officials to prioritize creation of basic infrastructure and ensure coordinated efforts for industrial development in the district.
Mr. Kishore, who chaired the District Industries Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting at the Collectorate on Friday, reviewed the pending industrial approvals, land allotment, infrastructure development work and introduction of self-employed schemes. He emphasized the need for expeditious processing of applications through the Single Desk portal and tasked the officials to provide all necessary support to the entrepreneurs.
The Collector called for speedy disposal of pending proposals in various industrial parks and directed the departments concerned to ensure that approvals are granted within the stipulated time frame. After reviewing the progress of applications received under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and PM Vishwakarma programme, he asked the officials to speed up loan sanction and organize capacity building programs for the beneficiaries.
Mr. Kishore also reviewed the infrastructural facilities in the industrial parks, including roads, power supply, water supply and street lighting. He reviewed the progress of development works at Pedagantyada, Auto Nagar and Nano Park, besides reviewing land allotments, execution of sale deeds, progress of projects under MoUs and investment approvals.
He directed officials to coordinate with APSRTC to run electric bus services for employees working in Auto Nagar and IT parks and called for faster action to improve water supply facilities in Auto Nagar industrial area.
District Industries Center General Manager Adiseshu, APIIC Zonal Manager Simhachalam and officials of various departments attended the meeting.
