Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella has announced strategic partnerships with four leading IT companies – Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro – joining forces with Microsoft to accelerate the adoption of agent-based artificial intelligence.
Speaking to an audience of developers and AI experts at Whitefield in Bengaluru on December 11, Mr Nadella said: “These companies are building AI factories.”
“These firms would emerge as ‘frontier firms’ with Microsoft deploying Copilot and agent AI in their various operations. Each of these firms will deploy more than 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses, collectively surpassing 200,000 licenses and setting a new benchmark for enterprise-scale AI adoption.”
“By incorporating AI into core operations, these organizations are becoming ‘frontier businesses’ – not only embracing AI, but reshaping their human-agent collaboration workflows to deliver high-value results and measurable impact across functions such as supply, sales, finance, HR and customer engagement.”
He said Microsoft has partnered with four leading IT companies to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot and transform the way organizations operate, innovate and scale. This collaboration has enabled businesses to increase productivity, efficiency and availability while driving AI-based innovation across industries.
With artificial intelligence at the core of operations, these firms are setting new standards for productivity, innovation and business transformation, according to Microsoft.
The announcement comes a day after Microsoft announced plans to invest $17.5 billion in cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, skills and ongoing operations in India over four years, between calendar years 2026 and 2029.
Puneet Chandok, President, Microsoft India and South Asia, said: “These global enterprises are moving from experimentation to full deployment, embedding Microsoft Copilot into the fabric of everyday work. This bold adoption is inspiring a new era of enterprise transformation powered by trusted digital collaborators. The blueprint is being written here – where speed, scale and impact converge to redefine.”
