The victim was identified as Sandeep Kumar from 209 Cobra Battalion.
Kumar was involved in an operation against a forbidden extremist group of left wing in Nurdha Jungle at the Chotanagra police station, when the incident occurred, he added.
He was transported to the hospital, but died during treatment.
