
In a strong Strideagainst, the growing challenge of drug abuse took place on Sunday the “Coast Cycling” under Aegis of Thrissur District Administration and District Exclusions Vimukthi, in cooperation with CyClers Thrissur. The district collector Arjun Pandian has described himself and took part in the driving with the theme “Sport is an intoxicant” (Sports Aana Lahari).
Cyclothon started at 8 am from Punnayurculum and covered 80 km over Vadanappaly, Snehatheeram, Valapad, Perinjanam and SN Puram, covering the national highway and the coastal highway before ending at the historic Kottapuram Muziris Park at 2.30 pm.
With 50 enthusiastic cyclists, including the district collector itself, the event presented a strong news of durability and hope. The team received a warm welcome from MLA et Taison and Perinjanam Panchayat President Vineeth Mohandas along with other local leaders. The reception at SN Puram Panchayat was led by MS President Mohanan and members of the Sn Cyclers Group.
At the Grand Finish Line in Kottapuram Muziris Park, cyclists were welcomed by VR Suril Kumar, Mla, City Chairman of Kodungallur TK Geeth, councilors and members of the Muziris Cyclers Group and add to the famous atmosphere.
Cyclothon wasn’t just a ride – it was a courageous statement. “The aim was to spread Thrissura without drugs without drugs and create awareness of the dangers of abuse of addictive substances and to transform ordinary citizens into socially responsible individuals,” said Mr. Pandiaan, who led the initiative with passion.
