CMC bags Diabetes Center of Excellence Award

The Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore has been awarded Center of Excellence status by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

According to a news release, the recognition was based on an assessment of CMC’s capacity in education, training, patient care, outreach and research. The award recognized the cumulative efforts, growth and substantial contributions of many people in the department over the past 25 years.

CMC holds the distinction of being both an International Center of Excellence in Diabetes Care and an Indian Council of Medical Research Collaborating Center of Excellence (ICMR-CCoE) for Diabetes.

In this regard, CMC thanked all stakeholders, supporters, collaborators, faculty, students, educators, laboratory staff and pharmacists for their help in achieving this milestone, the release said.
