Member of Hassan Lok Sabha Shreyas M. Patel said that the main Minister Siddarahaiaha will soon arrange a meeting of a human-slon conflict in the districts of Hassan and Kodag.
On Friday he spoke to the media after visiting the family members of Shanmukha, who died on Friday in an attack of elephants in the village of Baikere in Sakleshpur Taluk.
Mr. Patel said that he contacted the Minister of Forest Eshwar Khandre on an increase in the number of deaths due to conflict. The Minister assured him to convene a meeting under the Presidency of the Chief Minister to solve the problem.
The inhabitants of Baikere and the relatives of Shanmukha organized a protest on Friday evening and condemned his death. They demanded that the Minister of the Forest to visit the place and refuse to lift the dead body. Protest continued until 21:00
Mr. Patel and Mla for Sakleshpur Cement Manju spoke to family members and protesters. They managed to persuade and move the body to the hospital. The last ceremonies took place on Saturday.
