CM Vijay will fly to New Delhi on Wednesday to call on PM Modi
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday (May 27, 2026) to discuss issues concerning the state.
According to sources, Mr. Vijay will travel to New Delhi on a chartered flight from Chennai at 10 am. He will meet Mr. Modi at 4:30 pm and is likely to submit a memorandum detailing important issues, including financial matters and Karnataka’s plan for the Mekedat reservoir.
The Chief Minister has already written to the Prime Minister on issues like the Mekedatu project, uninterrupted supply of fertilizers for the Kharif season and removal of 11% import duty on cotton to ensure availability of the raw material.
During his first visit to the state capital after assuming office, the chief minister is also likely to meet some Union ministers. He will be accompanied by some of Mr. Vijay’s cabinet colleagues and senior officials of the Tamil Nadu government.
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president is also likely to meet Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Sources said Mr Vijay will return to Chennai on Thursday.
