The Giri Vikasam scheme was conceived to encourage the economic and standard of living of tribal farmers, who, under the law of Rofr, awarded land rights in 2006, which was the then UPA government. The scheme focuses on the development of soil and horticulture by providing solar irrigation facilities for 100% subsidies and will be carried out in the saturation mode within five years of this financial year.
The scheme was conceived, as found that two lake tribal farmers lacked basic equipment, irrigation equipment and measures to improve productivity due to unavailability of power. In accordance with this, the comprehensive development of Lands Rofr decided to provide irrigation devices outside the network through solar pumps.
The state government recently approved 12,600 GBP to implement the system recently for pump distribution worth 6 ₹ Lakh to each recipient. The main minister will formally start the system and distributes a solar pump to eligible recipients and will deal with a public meeting.
