
On July, the Minister of Health M. Subramanian will be inaugurated on Wednesday on the outskirts of the opening of protein trains for people undergoing renal dialysis in the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital.
The Minister said the government proposed to initiate 708 medical centers throughout the state. Of which 500 have already started. The main minister will add the rest of 208 centers.
Currently, 9 180 people in government hospitals are undergoing. A person on dialysis spends between 2,000 and 25,000 GBP per session and may require at least two sessions a week.
Scheme of providing high protein food would benefit poor patients, Mr. Subramanian added. The protein set, which provides 27 g of protein (around 40 kcal), contains 100 ml of milk, 2 eggs, black/white lens, 3 biscuits, each weighing 20 g. Provision of the protein set was announced in the budget at the beginning of this year.
During the event, the Minister interact with patients who underwent comprehensive hospital procedures. Higher medical officials of the department were also present.
