Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Wednesday unveiled the winner’s trophy for the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship for Men, organized by the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority and Hockey India, from the Secretariat.
The World Cup matches will be held in Chennai and Madurai from November 28 to December 10, according to an official release.
At the Secretariat, Mr. Stalin also presented enhanced incentives to students from 18 educational institutions under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Full-time interns will get ₹10,000 and part-time students ₹5,000, the report said.
He also inaugurated the modernized Tiruchengode Government Hospital through video conferencing. The hospital was expanded with 225 beds and a newly constructed ground and four-storey building under the Department of Health and Welfare at a cost of ₹23 crore.
Through video conferencing, Mr. Stalin also inaugurated a mini-Tidel Park in Vellore built at a cost of ₹ 32 crore with the potential to create employment opportunities for 600 people. He also laid the foundation stone for the ₹37 crore Mini Tidel Park in Rasipuram.
The Chief Minister also directed the control meeting on the activities of the Department of Public and Rehabilitation Department and the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Forests and the current status of the issued notices.
Mr. Stalin also published the English version of VMS Subagunarajan’s book titled ‘Caste and the Crisis of Dignity: Periyar EVR Ramasamy Speaks at Caste Association Meetings and Caste Abolition Conferences’ translated by Journalist R. Vijaya Sankar and VMS Subagunarajan’s book, “Caste and the Crisis of Dignity. This is the English version of Subagunarajan’s “जाटी देशुर्ण अधिला पेरियार”. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin received the first copy.
