Main Minister Siddaramaiah, also Chairman of Greater Bengaluruority (GBA), pulled out engineers for roads filled with potholes in Bengalur on Saturday and set them to fulfill October. Officials claimed that they identified 14,795 potholes, of which 8 046 had to be completed.
This is approaching on the heels of the Honchos city industry that increases the problem of bad roads, and one company on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), which says they will be moved from there because of infrastructure problems, immediately dresses the opposition BJP. Since then, the state government has been under damage control.
“People suffer because of roads filled with potholes and poor sections. What do engineers do in each department and corporations and why the work is always started during monsoons and never before?” Mr. Siddaramaiah questioned engineers. CM warned that in a month all the roads must be made by the engine and all potholes filled by the end of October, which would fail, which would be strict steps to take against the officials concerned. He warned the engineers not to be with the suppliers and to ensure quality work.
He said that while 18 GBP crore was set aside to fill potholes on arterial and subarterial roads in 2025-26, each of the five corporations was awarded £ 25 crore to deal with emergency work using which potholes must be immediately filled. He said that more funds would be published if necessary.
Mr. Siddaramaiaha pointed out the lack of coordination between civil authorities, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation LTD (BMRCL) and Bangalore’s supply and sewer plate (BWWSSB), leading to poor road sections. He pointed out that Ibbalur, Agara, Veeranna Palya, Nagavar and Hebal intersections were destroyed due to metro and BWSSB work and will be rebuilt as part of the Crore 400 Crore project on Redo Orr.
Technical liaison
While the main minister ordered GBA Commissioner to organize a coordination meeting between five corporations every week, he said that a technical liaison officer would be appointed to coordinate the engineering aspects of work across corporations.
