Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked the Central Government to provide permission to build a 12 -lane greenfield highway between the upcoming Bharat Future City and Machilipatnam through the port through Amaravati.
The Chief Minister, who called on the Minister of Road Transport and Motorway Nitin on Tuesday, reminded him that the AP reorganization Act had provisions on the construction of the highway connecting the capitals of the Telugana and Andhra Pradesh. Given that Telangana was a inland state without a harbor, the construction of the Greenfield motorway would allow the transport of Telangana products through the port of MachiPipnam.
Of the total section of about 330 km of the proposed motorway, it would be 118 km in Telangana.
Mr. Gadkari responded positively at the request of the main minister and assured that the center would therefore sanction within one week within the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) with an estimated 858 Crore. Telangana would soon be sent by a delegation of Morth officers to discuss the link between the future port of the city and Machilipatnam.
The Minister said that the session of higher officials of the Ministry and Nhai will be convened on September 22 in Hyderabad to review the project.
