The government of the main Minister Rekha Gupt led Delhi soon begins to clean the waiting electric vehicle (EV) subsidies £140 crore.
The Minister of Transport Pankaj Singh said on 15 September that the ministry would verify all applications for a subsidy to solve the pending items accumulated in two years, PTI Press agency reported.
The government of the party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) in the capital of the national capital is also preparing a portal for the removal of waiting fees, the agency said.
Development comes after the High Court 3. September ordered the government Delhi to take immediate steps to pay subsidies promised customers for the purchase of electric vehicles and state that procedural obstacles cannot be used as a pretext for payments delay.
The bench, including the chief Judge Devendra Kumar Upadhayaya and the justice Tushar Rao Gedela noted that the government cannot hide behind the fact that the policy of electric vehicles in Delhi in 2020 does not prescribe the timeline to pay the amount.
Officials cited by the intelligence agency stated that the order would be observed and the ministry has already identified the eligible recipients.
The manager said that the delay was caused by the previous arrest of former main Minister Delhi Arvina Kejriwal in the case of consumer policy. In his absence, the meeting of the cabinet was not conabled, and the EV policy could not be extended in time.
Since the start of EV policy in August 2020, the AAM AADMI government has used more than 2.19 Lakh vehicles of tax exemptions, including 1.09 Lakh double -columns and 83,724 three rounds. The government paid off £177 Crore in incentives by 2023.
The Delhi government has expanded the current electrical vehicle policy (EV) to March 31, 2026, as the proposal for a new policy will undergo a public consultation that is expected to take time.
This policy failed in August 2023. Since then it has been extended several times.
Last month, the main Minister Rekha Gupta announced the creation of a committee headed by Minister Ashish Sood to formulate electric vehicles 2.0.
