
The Chief Minister Pinaraya Vijayan praised the police on Monday for exceeding their traditional role in maintenance and order to actively contribute to building a better society through innovative and socially determined initiatives.
Mr. Vijayan spoke in the inauguration of two -day graduates for student police cadet (SPC) and help others promote educational (promising) projects introduced by the police.
“Projects such as HOPE and SPC are strong examples of how the police can shape a better society, not only by promoting law and all the time, but to take responsibility for increasing lives and instilling civic values,” he said.
Re -integrating children
The aim of the HOPE project, which was launched in 2017, is to re -integrate children under the age of 18 who resigned from the school or failed back into the formal educational system. Since the academic year 2024–25, 1,426 students continued as part of the project. During the current academic year, up to 1,067 students have already registered. Overall, this initiative allowed 4,364 students to pass public exams.
The SPC project, implemented in cooperation with the Department of General Education, has been implemented at 431 schools until 2016. Since then it has been expanded to 1,048 schools this year, of which 70 new ones.
The main minister also awarded the nine officers who participated and won medals for recent world police and firefighting games in Birmingham, USA
The office was chaired by the Chief of the State Police Ravada A. Chandrasekhar.
