Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged the Municipal Administration Department to use technology to ensure timely completion of various works.
Officials should use the latest technology to address residents’ complaints and issues that arise on the ground. On Friday, the Chief Minister discussed the functioning of the city administration department with senior officials and gave the officials several suggestions on the steps that should be taken in the core city region.
He wanted them to lay special emphasis on sanitation and eradicating the menace of mosquitoes. Awareness should be created among the residents that they will deposit garbage in designated areas and street lights will be given specific numbers and linked to the dashboard.
MAUD officials should particularly focus on food safety in the major urban region. Cameras should be installed in hotel kitchens and linked to a control center for occasional monitoring. Apart from conducting frequent inspections, steps should be taken to create an exclusive inspection wing to oversee the activities.
He wanted officials to explore the scope for rating and certifying hotels while steps should be taken to keep up-to-date firefighting equipment for emergency situations. Steps should be initiated to set up water harvesting wells at all signal junctions and roundabouts for rainwater harvesting.
Officials have been invited to start pilot projects in this direction in selected areas.
