The leader of the congress and MLA RAMESH Chennithal questioned the claims of the main Minister Pinaayi Vijayan in the assembly at the beginning of the week that 144 police officers were released for disciplinary reasons since she came to power in 2016.
Mr. Chennithala called on the main minister to issue a list of police officers and claimed that only about 50 police officers were rejected in the period. He said that he claims that the main minister missed the mistake of the meeting and disrupted the announcement of privileges.
Mr. Chennithala said that 61 errant police officers were released from the service between 2011 and 2016, when Oommen Chanda was the main minister. Despite the recommendations for the release of 144 police officers, the LDF government has tried to protect officials in the last nine and a half years, who faced criminal ages, claimed.
He accused the government of LDF not only of the divine performers of police officers, but also of entrusting persons involved in criminal cases with the obligations of law and orders. “The government appointed officers with a tarnished reputation for plus posts,” he said.
Mr. Chennithala also claimed that the government is not ready to carry out an order for appointment of a person who is not a police officer as an investigative official in the State Police Office in the Office for Complaints.
Such appointment was carried out when he (Mr. Chenninithala) was in charge of the home department in 2014-17. However, the LDF government canceled its appointment as soon as it came to power, he said.
