
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy along with his ministerial colleagues Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, G. Vivek and Ponguleti handed over accident insurance checks worth ₹1 million each to the families of Electricity Department employees who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The checks were presented to the family members of Orsu Suresh and Mukhtar Beg who died in the line of duty while working in the Power Department. The Chief Minister lauded Deputy CM and Power Minister Malla Bhatti Vikramarka for coming forward to support the bereaved families and ensure increased financial security measures for power sector workers.
Highlighting the government’s social security initiatives, he said that as per the findings of the CPEC survey, all identified eligible families will be covered under an insurance scheme of ₹5,000. Stressing that families should not be forced into destitution after the death of the head of the household, Mr. Reddy said the government had introduced a family insurance scheme to provide financial protection in such situations. He added that accident insurance cover of over ₹ 1 crore has been extended to the electricity department employees and Singareni workers, underscoring the government’s commitment to protect workers in high-risk sectors.
