The Chief Minister Pinaraya Vijayan launched a frightened attack on General Secretary Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Datatreya Hosabale and condemned his notes that demanded a review of secularism and socialism in the Indian Institute.
In a strongly formulated paper, Mr. Vijayan described Mr. Hosabale’s notes as “an insolent attempt to dismantle the main ideals of our republic”. He claimed that secularism and socialism are not merely supplements of the constitution, but the basic values that define India’s identity.
The main minister also criticized the invocation of the RSS leader in the emergency period to question these principles and call it a “misleading step”. He accused the RSS of Corporation with the Indired Gandhi government during the emergency “for his own survival” and described the current use of this era to undermine the Constitution as “clear hypocrisy and political opportunism”.
“Any citizen who believes in democracy must increase his voice against this municipal agenda,” said Mr. Vijayan.
