One week, the government of Jammu and Kashmir remained inconclusive about what in Kishtware triggered the fury of nature, which in 14 August and 33 others lacked 65 civilians.
The officials of the Disaster Administration Department are still in the process of establishing a cause that has led to unprecedented devastation of villages and disrupted Machail Mat Yatra at the upper reach of Kishtware. The officials were unable to find out whether the devastation was launched by Cloudburst or an explosion of a glacial lake.
Main Minister Omar Abdullah, who chaired the meeting to review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures, also stressed that the real cause is still not unknown.
“Whether it was an explosion of cloudburst or lake glacier, the fact remains that this tragedy hit the Chashoti village in the busiest year. If this happened at any time, the impact could be less serious.
The Government of Jamm and Kashmir promotes long -term strategies to protect vulnerable areas from recurring natural calamities. “The meteorological department has issued a warning, including advice against unnecessary travel, which emphasizes the importance of accepting clear SOPs and instructions for highly vulnerable regions,” Abdullah said.
He said that medium -term and long -term measures must include holistic assessment of vulnerable areas by experts, protection of agricultural land, discouragement from housing along the flood susceptible grazing and creating preventive mechanisms.
Omar Abdullah was still struggling to watch missing civilians. “Unfortunately, when 33 people are still missing, it is safe to assume that none of them do not have to find alive. Our priority is now to get bodies to pass them on to their families. It is equally important to rehabilitate those whose homes and livelihoods are destroyed,” Abdullah said.
Of the 65 people who lost their lives, 62 bodies were identified and handed over to families. Sixty -six people were also rescued.
Meanwhile, Governor of Lieutenant Manoj Sinha, the main secretary, roads and buildings (R&B) and the mining department of Anil Kumar Singh, on Thursday, carried out the review of the rescue and auxiliary operations in the village of Chashoti.
The Chashoti bridge, which was under construction, was also discussed and was approaching the completion of the Bailey Bridge with the confession of the considered Bailey Bridge.
Officials also reviewed the proposal for bridges of Jasnie Nálah and Hako Nallah, “which will be launched after the ongoing rescue and auxiliary operations”.
