CJP Protest Mumbai LIVE Updates: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipek, is set to hold a protest in Mumbai on October 2 demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.

The proposed agitation, targeting the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) handling of electoral rolls and the Special Intensive Review (SIR), comes as the CJP prepares to expand its protest campaign beyond Mumbai.

According to PTI, Dipke said the CJP will stage a protest at Shivaji Park in Mumbai’s Dadar area on October 2 as part of his campaign and to press his demands.

The Mumbai Police denied permission to the CJP to stage a protest at Shivaji Park on October 2. After the rejection, Dipke said the group would continue its agitation and announced the ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’. Police have reportedly advised organizers to consider alternative venues.

Dipke said the movement will subsequently spread to other places, including Goa, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

At a press conference in Mumbai on 1 October, Dipke and other CJP leaders announced plans for further protests while reiterating their demands regarding Gyanesh Kumar.
