CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke diagnosed typhoid

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Saturday (July 25, 2026) that he has been diagnosed with typhoid, adding that he is undergoing treatment and receiving intravenous medication.

He had earlier promised that his illness would not slow down the movement seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan (Mr. Pradhan resigned as Union Education Minister).

In a video message shared on social media, Mr. Dipke said he had been unwell for the past few days and was currently undergoing treatment.

Despite his illness, he thanked CJP supporters for sustaining protests across the country and said the movement would achieve its goal.

“As you know, I have not been well for the past few days. The news is out and I have been diagnosed with typhoid,” he said.

“Treatment continues. I am getting IVs every day. But I want to thank all the cockroaches who are protesting peacefully across the country,” he said.

“Congratulations to all of you for making this movement such a big success. I am very sure that if we continue to protest like this, we will get the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan,” he said earlier.

The CJP-led agitation, launched over alleged irregularities in the entrance examinations, demanded accountability in the examination system, reforms in recruitment and entrance tests and Mr Pradhan’s resignation.

The protest received support from several public figures, including activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the agitation on 28 June and observed a 26-day hunger strike.

Mr Wangchuk ended his fast earlier this week after the Center assured in writing that no cases would be registered against the peaceful protesters, that parliament would discuss examination and accountability reforms and that compensation to the families of students who died by suicide following the alleged NEET paper leak would be positively considered.

Despite Mr. Wangchuk ending his fast, the CJP insisted that its protest against Jantar Mantar would continue until Mr. Pradhan resigned from his position.
