At a time when there is enough clamor over the supply of gas cylinders, Civil Supplies officials on Friday (March 13, 2026) raided a dilapidated building on the outskirts of Tirupati and seized nearly 400 illegally stored cylinders.
The premises located in Avilala Panchayat once served as a warehouse for a private gas supplier, but its license expired in 2019. A team led by Tirupati District Supply Officer Seshachala Raju raided the crashes and also found that the private company was supplying commercial cylinders to hotels in the Tirumala hills.
