
The residential building in Venkatapo in the Korangale, which has issued more announcements of the breach of building, leaned after the development of cracks on the ground floor. The building owner has now started the demolition process.
Last year, during routine inspections, similar Korangala division identified the building under the construction on site 17/B, owned by one Shanthamma. On August 2, 2024, a notice was issued according to Section 313 of the BBMP Act of 2020 (replaced by the Act on Administration of Public Affairs to Bengalur) and sought approved building plans and other relevant documents.
Given that the owners submitted the required documents, the building was considered unauthorized. Subsequently, the provisional order and cause of the causes according to sections 248 (1) and 248 (2) of the BBMP Act were issued on 13 August 2024. Despite repeated announcements, the owners and launched demolition or provide a satisfactory explanation.
On September 23, 2024, the owners asked for several months to carry out a demolition under the leadership of an architect and made sure that neighboring buildings would not be affected. The company postponed the event on the basis of this application.
More than a year later, on Thursday, September 25, the owners submitted another letter about visible cracks in the building foundation and were looking for permission to safely demolish the structure. After the inspection of the site, the office of the assistant of the executive engineer granted conditional consent for demolition.
Owners have now voluntarily launched demolition at their own expense. Officials supervise the work to ensure that the inhabitants in the area are not caused by inconvenience or harm.
The company warned that if demolition is delayed or left incomplete, it would demolish through legal procedures.
