The Delhi State Committee of the Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has complained to the International Labor Organization (ILO) about the complicity of the Union and the Uttar Pradesh government in violating the fundamental rights of workers and attacking trade union rights in the industrial areas of Noida and Greater Noida.
In its complaint to the International Labor Organization’s Committee on Freedom of Association (CFA), CITU expressed concern about “serious, widespread and systematic violations” of freedom of association, the right to organize, the right to collective bargaining and the right to peaceful assembly. CITU urged the ILO to recognize its complaint under the ‘Freedom of Association’ procedure and rule that the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh were violating the fundamental principles of the ILO.
