BC Roads and Buildings Minister Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday (Nov 19) said investment proposals worth ₹13 crore at the recent CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam reflected renewed confidence in the coalition government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Addressing a press conference here, the minister said the government has expedited industrial inspections through a single window mechanism and introduced policy frameworks for all major departments. The minister noted that Google’s entry into Andhra Pradesh will spur more industrial activity in Rayalaseema and North Andhra.
On infrastructure, Mr. Reddy said the coalition government had taken up construction of roads worth ₹4,000 crore and completed repairs worth ₹1,058 crore soon after coming to power. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the rehabilitation of roads and projects funded by the NDB, adding that pending bills have now been approved to resume these works.
He said the government’s immediate priority is to ensure that the state’s roads are pothole-free and that other sections will be upgraded under Category C works.
