Archbishop of Varappuzha Joseph Kalathharamin Bless Church dedicated to the blessed Carlo Accutis in Pallikkara, Kakkanad, Kochi on Sunday (September 7, 2025).
The latest church dedicated to Blessed Carlo Acutis, the Italian in London, who died as a teenager in 2006, was consecrated on Sunday (September 7, 2025) in Kakkanad, Kakkanad, Kerala.
A teenage computer lover, called “God’s influence”, was canonized earlier on the day in the Vatican, which made him the first “millennial saints” of the Roman Catholic Church.
The church in Kakkanad was blessed by the Archbishop of Varappuzha Joseph Kalathipaambil on Sunday evening. Others who were present included generals vicar Mathew Kallingal and Mathew Elanjimattam and church vicar Fr. Rocky Kollamparamtil.
The Church devoted herself to the blessed Carlo Acutis in Pinellicankara, Kakkanad, Kochi.
The Holy Ceremon for Carl, who died at the age of 15, was originally scheduled for April 27, but was suspended because of the death of Pope Francis six days earlier.
Carlo, described by those who knew him as an exceptionally smart and more subtle, also had a deeply spiritual side. He regularly visited the church, set up the website of the list of miracles attributed to the Eucharist, and conducted countless kindness, according to his biographies and people who fought for their thing for the wedding.
His short but exemplary life hit the chord with believers and from his bitlification to 2020 – the penultimate step towards the Holy – his tomb in Assisi attracted crowds of pilgrims, including teenagers. His canonization coincides with the jubilee of teenagers.
