
Chittoor District Collector Sumit Kumar receives the award from Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand at the National Voter’s Day celebrations in Vijayawada on Sunday.
Chittoor district received state-level recognition and secured the second position for excellence in election management during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The award was presented to District Collector Sumit Kumar at the 16th National Voter’s Day celebrations at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, Vijayawada on Sunday.
Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand presented the award in recognition of effective electoral mapping of the district and effective implementation of the SIR process.
Chittoor district was lauded for systematic verification of voter details, accurate electoral mapping and coordinated efforts of the district election machinery to ensure transparency and strengthen the voter roll.
Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav and former Nimmagadda State Election Commissioner Ramesh Kumar attended the award ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sumit Kumar said that the success was the result of the coordinated teamwork of the District Election Administration and reaffirmed the commitment to further improve the election processes.
