Satwiksairaj Randireddy, Chirag Shetty will receive Major Dyan Chand Khel Ratna Award Sport Minister Mansukh Mandaviya presented the Prize of the Main Dyan Chand Khel Ratna for badminton duo Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Ranlreddy at the Sports Authority of India on Thursday and completed their waiting felicitation since last year.
The February ceremony was postponed after Satwik’s father R Kasi Viswanatham died of cardiac arrest on the planned day.
“Felicitated and presented the Dyan Chand Khel Ratna 2023 main prize to our badminton champions, Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Ranlreddy, in New Delhi,” Mandaviya said on X.
“This award is proof of their determination and exceptional performances in the court. I wish them the best in their future efforts,” he added.
The perfect duo won gold medals at Asian and social games 2022 and Asian championships 2023.

In 2023, Satwik set the world record of Guinness for the fastest badminton breaking of the male player and reached a speed of 565 km/h.
“As my shuttle rose to 565 km / h, I realized the real speed of my father’s pride – an unbreakable record in my heart,” Satwik said on social media, sharing his father’s video, unpacking the world record Guinness certificate.
The original prize ceremony was scheduled for Rashtrapati Bhawan, but players could not participate because of their competitive obligations.
