About 20 scientists and experts from China will visit the Visva-Bharati University to participate in the International Seminar in Rabindranath Tagore on April 1 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Indian Chinese diplomatic link, the Chinese Consul General in Kolkata XU Wei.
Mr. XU said Rabindranath Tagore, who visited China in 1924, is a symbol of friendship in India, India and an international seminar in Cheena Bhavana in Visva-Bharati, 100 years of newspaper laureates in his country.
“We will organize an international seminar with Cheena Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University to remember the 100th anniversary of Tagore’s visit in China and 75. The anniversary of our relationship. In an interview with a group of media people in Calcutta, Mr. XU said that in 2024 a group of scientists and artists from India visited “China to restore Tagore traces” and organized an exhibition of photographs in Visva-Bharati in 2024 to commemorate 100.
Cheena Bhavan (Department of Chinese Language and Culture) at the University of Visva-Bharati is the oldest separation of Chinese studies on this subcontinent, founded by Tagore and Professor Tan Yun-Shan in April 1937 with great ideas to strengthen age-old cultural relations and extend between India and China.
The Consul General spoke about the need to increase people’s ties to people and said that they were coming in the spring of Indian-Chinese ties. In 1938, Mr. XU tied Indian medical missions to China, led by Dwarakanath Kotnis, and spoke of the initiatives and activities of the memorial committee of Dr. DWARKANATH Kotnis, West Bengal. He said that efforts to restore direct flights between cities in India and China.
“Before the pandemic, both countries began direct flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Kunming to Nový Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and other cities, with 50 years a week. Both parties are currently working on direct flights between the two countries,” said Mr. XU.
The Consul General, which shares data on the number of people visiting the countries, said that in 2019, before the epidemic, about 1.07 million personnel exchanges were about 8.7 Indian citizens, and almost two lakh mainland Chinese people entered India.
“I know that in 2024, Indian friends issued more than 280,000 (or 2.8 lakh) visas in India, of which more than 80% were commercial visas,” the XU said.
