The legendary Australia cricket Steve Waugh revealed that China seriously means getting a gold medal in cricket at the Los Angeles Olympics.
Therefore, there is a huge excitement before returning sport to Quadrennial event. Recently, Steve Waugh also shared his views on his return and said that cricket’s inclusion was taken seriously because China started building a team to win gold.
“As soon as the cricket has been announced in the Olympics, China has started to build a team. They are massive about winning gold now. The T20 is massive now. It’s billions of dollars and growing every day,” the test cricket survives, but the T20 will dominate.
Meanwhile, the La28 organizational committee announced that The Exhibition Center in Pomona in South California will host cricket in Los Angeles 2028 (La28) Olympic Games. The cricket was officially added to the Los Angeles Olympic program during the 141. IOC (International Olympic Committee) in Mumbai in October 2023. It will join five other new sports in LA28, namely baseball/softball, flagship, lacrosse) and squash.
Sport was assigned 90 athletes quotaallowing six -member competitions in both male and female events, each team includes 15 players. The cricket recently recorded a revival of more sports events. For 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, a female cricket was first listed, with Australia claiming gold and India that took silver. In the Asian Games 2023, it took place in Hangzhou, took part in 14 male teams and 9 female teams, with India securing gold in both categories.
