China launched a sebum, a warning system based on AI. It is named after the Chinese marine goddess. The AI can help develop natural disasters. The system was revealed at the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai.
The name of the sebum has a deep meaning, especially along the Chinese coast. Her temples, known as the protector of fishermen, still stand on Fujian and Tai -wan. In 2009, the Vída of the sebum was listed as a UNESCO cultural heritage.
The initiative is part of the Chinese initiative of Belt and Road Initiative (founded in 2013 by President Xi Jinping, it is the largest global investment plan in the world. It combines 147 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
The sebum, which is built for global use, aims to support the country by offering early warnings for extreme weather, according to southern China Morning Post. The Chinese weather body, the Chinese meteorological administration (CMA), cooperates with nations such as Ethiopia and Pakistan to develop these systems together.
Zeng Qin, director of CMA international cooperation, said: “Wherever the sebum is seen around the world, it serves as a symbol of our common reaction to extreme weather.”
Many countries have strong warning systems. In the US, the National Meteorological Service uses powerful computers and radar to provide accurate forecasts, especially for hurricanes. In the US, weather weather data is provided by NWS and NOAA.
Japan leads in the area of earthquakes and alerts of the tsunami. The EU Copernicus program uses satellites to monitor environmental changes and weather forecasting.
According to SCMP, however, these systems usually help their own regions and focus on specific disasters. They also rely on local supercomputers.
Using AI in India for weather forecasts
India uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve weather prediction. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) now uses AI for better precipitation and cyclone forecasts, thermal wool warnings and a quick warning for cloudbursts.
The Ministry of Sciences of the Earth has established a special virtual research center in IITM PUNE. Within the Mausam and Wind mission, more than 2 LakH meteorological stations in real time to improve local forecasts.
The Central Water Commission uses AI for seven -day flood warnings. AI models also help predict monsoons better than older methods.
