
A chilling video has surfaced on social media after multiple gunshots rang out on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia on Sunday. It showed blood splattered on the ground, with white sheets covering the bodies as police investigated the incident. NSW Police confirmed two people had been taken into custody.
“Two people are in police custody at Bondi Beach; however, the police operation is ongoing and we continue to urge people to avoid the area. Please follow ALL police instructions. Do not cross police lines,” NSW Police said.
He also asked people to avoid the area and take cover as they responded to the “developing incident” at Bondi Beach.
Thirteen people were taken to hospital after the horrific shooting, a New South Wales Ambulance spokesman confirmed, a Reuters report noted.
According to AFP, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the shooting on Bondi Beach in Sydney as “shocking and disheartening”.
In a statement shared by his office, Albanese said: “Police and emergency workers are on the scene working to save lives. My thoughts are with everyone affected. I urge people in the area to follow up with the (New South Wales) Police.”
