The report lists arrests and FIRS as the strongest deterrent against the marriage of children, although in the last three years it has attributed this unprecedented decline in the coordinated behavior of the Indian government, the state government and the organization of civil society.

It also shows that 63% of respondents now feel “very comfortable” by reporting children’s marriage, while another 33% claim to be “somewhat comfortable”.
In terms of education, the report found that in 31% of the villages all girls in the age group 6-18 years attended school, but in Bihar were observed huge differences of 9% and Maharashtra at 51%. Poverty (88%), lack of infrastructure (47%), safety (42%) and lack of transport (24%) were cited as girls’ education barriers (47%). The reasons cited for children included poverty (91%), ensuring the safety of small girls (44%) and traditions and standards.
The report is based on field data from 757 villages from five states that have been selected by zones that represented various social and cultural contexts of India, and accepted multi -stage stratified random consumption. The first -line service providers such as Anganwadi, school teachers, auxiliary nurse of midwives, Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI) etc. were approached.
“India is on the verge of ending the marriage of children and exceeds the fulfillment of the goal of sustainable development to prove to the world that its end is possible and inevitable,” said Bhuwan Ribhu, founder of just rights for children at the beginning of the report.
