AND a week after his 175 off 80 balls against England in February led India to the Under-19 World Cup title, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi quietly passed his CBSE Class 10 board exams in Samastipur, Bihar. With cricket consuming almost all of his time and energy, Vaibhav could hardly devote time to academics. In much of small-town Bihar, where the old doctrine that one should at least clear matriculation –Must pass 10– still stands, the decision raised more than a few eyebrows.
