Chief Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, K. Vijayanand, has directed the Power Distribution Companies (DISCOMs) to ensure timely and effective implementation of the Solar Rooftop Investment Program (SRIP), supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and NABARD, across the state.
Mr. Vijayanand, who chaired a review meeting with DISCOMs and representatives of ADB and NABARD at the Secretariat on Tuesday, said the state government is determined to accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar panels to promote clean, affordable and sustainable energy. He noted that solar rooftops are key to achieving Andhra Pradesh’s renewable energy goals, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and empowering consumers through decentralized generation.
