Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a one-time incentive of ₹30,000 for the third child and ₹40,000 for the fourth as part of the government’s efforts to support population growth.
“Population is the real wealth of the future. The incentives are part of the new population management policy which aims to promote population growth as the development of the state is possible only with the availability of human resources,” Mr Naidu said while addressing the Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra program at Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district on Saturday.
The Chief Minister also hinted at increasing the financial assistance paid under the Thalliki Vandanam scheme (currently 15,000 per child) to encourage parents to send their children to school.
Mr. Naidu appealed to people to give top priority to cleanliness and avoid using plastic in daily life. He hinted at banning single-use plastic, which has turned into a threat.

The Chief Minister later interacted with sanitation workers and asked them to take care of their health during the cleanliness drive.
The Chief Minister also observed the functioning of the plastic packaging machine and the recycling of plastic waste, where he was informed that the sorting of plastic waste is easy with the availability of new technologies.
Mr. Naidu congratulated Srikakulam District Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar for taking up several initiatives under the Swarna Andhra – Swachh Andhra programme.
The Chief Minister visited the bank’s stall of ‘Abhayam’ helmets where Superintendent of Police KV Maheswara Reddy explained the steps being taken to reduce the number of road accidents in the district.
Mr. Reddy said the police department would provide helmets to motorists, which should be returned by the recipient within 48 hours after purchasing a new one.

Mr. Naidu created a pleasant surprise as he wore a helmet and rode a Royal Enfield and reminisced about his college days riding the vehicle.
The Chief Minister’s convoy was limited to four vehicles during the Narasannapeta tour due to the Prime Minister’s appeal to conserve fuel. Many members of the public, including Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu, followed suit and reduced the number of vehicles in their convoy.
