Main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar in Raj Bhavan.
The meeting, which took an hour, came at a time when the state sector of higher education witnessed deep administrative turbulence.
A number of urgent questions, especially on the ongoing crisis, including various state universities, including Keral University, which remains involved in an extended administrative distance, learned that it came in the discussions.
Mr. Vijayan also reportedly handed over the panel nominated for the appointment of a temporary vice -rector at the Keral Digital University. He also called on Governor to speed up the appointment of a temporary vice -rector for APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
The meeting also recorded a discussion of several waiting accounts, including the Act on Private Universities, which is currently waiting for the Governor’s consent.
The meeting presents the first formal interaction between the main minister and the governor because the controversy of “Bharat Mat” has spread. The series led to the tension at Keral University and suspension of the registrar of the KS Anil Kumar Vice -Rectoral Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal. However, there is no official word about whether the problem has been raised during the interview.
The main minister is also said to have expanded the invitation of the Governor and his family to attend the official celebrations of the onam organized by the government.
Governor is understood to assure the main minister of his full cooperation in facilitating government administrative initiatives.
The Minister of Law and Industry P. Rajeeve, who spoke to Mediaperonsons, said there was nothing unusual at the meeting, which is an essential part of the Democratic Administration system.
“In such a framework, the government and the governor are entrusted with the fulfillment of their assigned duties. In order to ensure smooth coordination, constant interactions are necessary,” the minister said.
The Minister of Higher Education R. Binda recently said that the government has begun to restore the normality of normalness in the functioning of universities by ironing differences.
