Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal and her family offered special prayers at the historic Lord Shiva temple at Srimukhalingam in Srikakulam district, a press release issued by the temple authorities said on Sunday. The chief priest of the temple, Naidugari Rajasekhar, welcomed the Chief Justice and her family members in a traditional manner and performed a puja. He explained that the temple was built in the 6th century by the Eastern Ganga Dynasty and inspected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Justice Sunita and her family members observed the architecture of the temple and inquired about the culture and traditions of the people living in Srikakulam district. Mr. Rajasekhar urged the government to provide more facilities in the temple and develop Srimukhalingam as a model village with higher allocation of funds to improve civic amenities like roads, street lights and sewage system.
