A police officer for other guards was killed, while several other staff and officers also suffered injuries when an improvised explosive device (IED) set Maoists left on Monday (June 9, 2025) in the Sukma district in Chhattisgarh.

Mr. Sharma confirmed that asp Akash Rao Giripunje was killed and expressed sorrow over his death. Previously, the police said that Giripunje was critically injured in the explosion.
“Akash Rao Giripunje, another police superinndent (ASP) – building, soakma district, suffered serious injuries in IED Blast’s press near Donndra.”
Another SP Akash was in the area of the area to prevent any incident of naxality with regard to the challenge for Bharat Bandh 10.
The officer added that other officers and Jawans were also injured at this pressure of the explosion, but did not specify their exact number. He also said that other officers were out of danger.
“All injured are treated in Konto Hospital. Among the injured, the condition of the next SP Akash Rao is considered very serious and critical. Other injuries are currently out of danger.
