Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday (Nov 11, 2025) expressed confidence that Maoism could be eradicated from the state before the Centre’s March 2026 deadline. He made the remarks while urging industrialists from Gujarat to invest in Chhattisgarh “without fear” during the Chhattisgarh Investor Connect event held in Ahmedabad.
On the concluding day of his two-day summit in Gujarat, CM Sai said that Maoism had long hindered industrial growth in the mineral-rich state, but the situation was improving fast. “Chhattisgarh is a mineral rich state with immense industrial potential. However, development has stalled due to Naxalism. In January 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi set a target to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026. We are succeeding in our mission and many key Maoist leaders have been neutralized before the Naxalism deadline.

The Chief Minister appealed to Gujarat investors and assured them of full government support. “I encourage investors to start their business in Chhattisgarh. Our industry department will provide all necessary assistance,” he added.
During the event, eight Gujarat-based companies signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth ₹33,000 crore with the Chhattisgarh government for proposed investments in various sectors.
Mr. Sai noted that the state has received investment proposals totaling ₹ 7 crore in the last ten months and that similar outreach events have been organized across the country to attract more investment.
Addressing the media, the Chief Minister reiterated that Naxalism was the biggest obstacle to Chhattisgarh’s progress. “Under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi – both sons of Gujarat – we are meeting this challenge successfully. Once Naxalism ends, Chhattisgarh will reach new heights of development,” he said.
He also highlighted the government’s efforts to rehabilitate surrendered Naxalites, which includes providing cash incentives, land and housing along with basic amenities like water, electricity and ration to their villages.
