The security forces were shot by 16 Maoists in an anti-Maoist operation carried out in the Chhattisgarh district on Saturday 29 March 2025), the police said. Two security staff also suffered injuries.
The police officer said the operation started on Friday, March 28 after receiving a tip about the presence of Maoists in the Keralapal Police Station in the Sukma district. “Two Drg Jawans were also injured at the meeting. The state of the injured Jawan is normal and the danger,” said the officer, who added that the Maoists were identified at the meeting.
This is the second main meeting in less than ten days. 20 March was killed by up to 26 reportedly Maoists along the Bijapur-Dantewada region. Since the beginning of this year, at least 116 Maoists have been killed by the Bastar security forces, which include seven districts, including Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewady.
