In the women’s competition, Cercle d’échecs de Monte-Carlo won the 29th European Women’s Club Cup after a draw with Turkish Airlines Sports Club. They finished with an impressive 13/14 points.Despite the loss, Sirmium Sremska Mitrovica secured second place in SuperChess 1.5-2.5. Reigning champions Tajfun SK Ljubljana drew with CE Gambit Bonnevoie to finish third.The tournament proved to be successful especially for the Indian players. GM World Champion D Gukesh represented SuperChess in the Open while GM Women’s World Cup winner Divya Deshmukh played for Cercle d’échecs de Monte-Carlo.In the final round of the Open Section, World Champion GM D Gukesh drew against GM Vladimir Fedoseev, both rated 2752. GM Alexey Sarana and GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac secured vital victories for SuperChess.Individual achievements were notable in the Open section. GM D Gukesh won Board #1 Gold with a performance rating of 2927. GM Nihal Sarin won Board #4 Gold playing for Bayegan Pendik Chess Sports Club.GM Aravindh Chithambaram won the 4th Bronze Plate representing Alkaloid with a score of 2718.
