
The double Masters of Indian Super League (ISL) Chennaiyin FC decided to suspend their players and first team employees because of the growing uncertainty about the future of the competition, the club confirmed in a statement on social media.

“This is never easy decisions and our has come for many thoughtful and careful considerations. We are more than just a football club in Chennaiyin FC. We are a family. Like any family, we support each other in difficult times.
“The calls to be a part in Indian football are well recognized. Given the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of the Indian Super League, Chennaiyin FC has taken an extremely difficult decision to temporarily suspend club operations.
“We hope that this pause will be short -term and that we can return to what we love when there is clarity for all clubs. Throughout this uncertainty, our commitment to the growth of Indian football on which this journey has begun as strong as it is always.
According to several reports, the club Abhishek Bachchan-Vita Dani-Leded Club managed to pay the salaries of the first team for June, but in July did not do so, without the influx of cash, because the league was suspended by its organizer, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL).
At the beginning of this year, the club suspended operations for its youth teams.
Meanwhile, it is planned to meet the CEOs of all Isl 7 clubs on August.
Chennaiyin FC was not part of the initial group of eight clubs invited to a meeting. However, AIFF later expanded the invitation to Chennaiyin, Mumbai City FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, East Bengal FC and Mohammedan SC.
