Minister of Agriculture N. Cheluvarayaswamy ordered officials to ensure that farmers would be available in time of quality seeds.
On Friday at a meeting at Mandya, the Minister stated that problems regarding property damage due to rainy, road repairs, etc. should be adopted in priority and relief should be ensured as part of the Rajiv Gandhi housing system. The officials were instructed to stay in their designated headquarters to respond to farmers’ complaints. Srirangapatana MLA Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda suggested that soil testing be carried out in several villages in every planer and based on the results, farmers should be encouraged to grow suitable crops.
Representative of the Commissioner Kumar provided details about the situation of the district deduction, availability and distribution of seeds, fertilizer supplies, etc. The Minister issued a poster on crop insurance. Melkote MLA Darshan Puttanaiah, MLC Dinesh Gooli Gowd, Chairman Mysugar Gangadhar, Mandy Zill Panchayat Nandini and others were present.
